Sheila Gropper Nelson is a sole practitioner who is currently the only California Small Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist in the City and County of San Francisco.
She has practiced law in San Francisco and the Bay Area for twenty five years after receiving her law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
Over the years she has handled cases ranging from complex litigation, antitrust, and intellectual property, to real property, employment matters and bankruptcy law.
She represents both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy court from San Jose to Santa Rosa. She handles voluntary petitions in all chapters of the bankruptcy code (Chapters 7, 11, and 13 to name the most common) as well as representing creditors challenging discharge of debt. She handles all aspects of bankruptcy litigation.
As a general civil attorney she represents both plaintiffs and defendants. In addition to representing her clients at trials, arbitrations and administrative hearings in both State and Federal Courts, her practice handles business formation (choosing the right entity whether corporate, partnership or limited liability), business dissolution and bulk sales, and all aspects of contract negotiations for employers and employees, sellers and buyers, and landlords and tenants.
Having acted as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the State of California she volunteers at, and has served as an arbitrator with, both the National Association of Security Dealers and the San Francisco Bar Association Fee Dispute Panel.
She listens to her clients and offers real-time solutions to real-time problems for all matters large and small.
